Preview: Vincentian Academy rehearses 'Seussical'

PITTSBURGH — Vincentian Academy is performing “Seussical” this year.

“I love ‘Seussical.’  It’s full of big dance numbers and exciting characters,” said senior Kristyna Finikiotis, who is playing the Cat in the Hat.

Senior Emma Sciullo is also happy about the musical choice.

“It’s energetic and colorful,” she said.

Lauren Sarazen is the new musical director at Vincentian Academy.

“I love watching the show progress and collaborating with the staff and students.  It’s wonderful to see the creativity come to life,” said Sarazen, who comes to the school after choreographing North Hills’ shows.

The students are enjoying working with Sarazen and each other.

“We are a fun group, but we also work hard.  Everyone is so encouraging and willing to help each other,” said Finikiotis.

Vincentian Academy’s production of “Seussical” runs Feb. 22-24 and March 1-2 at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center.
